Village Headquarters is Brooklyn's coordinated shelter-to-permanence coalition — connecting people in crisis with housing, healthcare, job training, and the financial tools to stay housed for good.
No single organization can solve homelessness alone. That's why we built a coalition — and why it works.
We connect voucher-holding individuals to landlords who say YES — navigating CityFHEPS and Section 8 from application to keys in hand. No sobriety requirement. No judgment. Just a path home.
On-site medical screenings, mental health support, substance use services, and behavioral health stabilization — because lasting housing begins with healing the whole person.
Financial literacy workshops, credit building, and wealth education so residents don't just get housed — they stay housed and build toward a future they can own.
Meals served, keys handed over, and skills built — every day, across Brooklyn and Queens.

NorthernStar Youth Initiative was founded in 2009 by Anthony J. Brewer in Brooklyn, New York — born from a simple belief: that every person experiencing homelessness deserves more than a bed. They deserve a path.
For over 15 years, our track record has been providing housing for voucher applicants through CityFHEPS, SOTA, LINC and DHS contracts — serving homeless adults, formerly incarcerated individuals, young adults ages 18–25, and families across Brooklyn and Queens.
In 2015, we created the Village Headquarters — a brand and a vision. "It takes a village to raise a child." Today that vision has grown into a coalition of three organizations operating as one coordinated system: from emergency intake to permanent housing to financial independence.
We are not just a shelter. We are a pipeline to permanence.
Every person who enters the Village Headquarters system — from a street referral or shelter — moves through the same coordinated pathway. No one gets lost between the cracks.
For 15+ years we have placed voucher applicants into housing through CityFHEPS, SOTA, LINC and DHS contracts. The government contracts listed below are proposals we are actively pursuing — they have not been awarded yet.
These grants were won through Ms. Tahniqua Williams and Ashayah Consultations, Inc., funding additional services to employers and city agencies. Ashayah also provides long-term consulting, project management and oversight — www.ashayahconsulting.com.
Village Headquarters enters every partnership with an existing, activated network of vetted service partners — built through real operational relationships over 15+ years.
We are actively seeking partners in real estate, healthcare, workforce development, and community services. If your organization shares our commitment to ending homelessness in Brooklyn, we want to build with you.
Village Headquarters Drop-In Center connects you immediately to shelter, food, healthcare, housing, and more — all in one coordinated system. No judgment. Low barrier. High care.

Every dollar you give keeps someone housed, fed, and moving forward. Your support funds hot meals, case managers, medical screenings, job training, and the staff who show up every single day.
Village Headquarters is powered by community — and that means people like you. You don't need to give a lot. You just need to give.
